Writing has brought me to the remotest corners of many cities and countries of this world, to places that i would certainly have never seen if i had not been travelling as a writer. On the other hand, i had to go to New York three times before i finally stood on the World Trade Center, because on on previous occasions, i was only chasing walls instead of tourist attractions. Of course i can tell you that i spent two weeks in 1992 in the South Bronx and so got to now a New York that was not to be found in any tourist guide. No matter in wich city, these were times i would never have wanted to miss and most of all friendships developed that went far beyond the realms of the writing. If i had to say what writing over time brought me, it was most of all a second family, the members of wich can be found in the crews.
